The Citizens Police Academy offers Graham residents a chance to get a hands-on feel for what life is like behind the badge.

If you've ever wondered what it takes to wear the badge of a Graham Police Officer you can apply to the Citizen Police Academy for an exciting and memorable introduction to the world of law enforcement.

The Graham Police Department will be offering the FREE course once a year and invites anyone 21 years and older to apply.

You will attend a ten week course, one evening a week for three hours per session and find yourself on an obstacle course behind the wheel of a police cruiser, firing weapons at the shooting range, learn to search vehicles for contraband, suit up and make split second decisions during a course with the tactical team, tour the Young Co. Jail and learn from officers of the Department on subjects such as Crime Scene Investigation, Traffic, Patrol and more.  There will be practical and classroom experiences.

The Graham Police Department hopes that citizens from every segment of the community, who are interested, will apply.
